There is no greater form of flattery than for a member of the collective to share an experience they have had with their little one. Annamaria shared with us a description of her Date Night turned Cosmopolitan Outing. Thank you Anna for sharing your experience! We hope others will be opening to sharing too. Read about Anna's experience here:
Our experience was inspired by the Cosmopolitan kids mom's.
What started out as a date night almost turned into a night on the couch watching a movie. Our babysitter (Abuela) was tired & not feeling well after spending the day with Sophia so I didn't want to ask her to stay with Sophia while my fiance & I went to dinner. He suggested we just go to dinner some other time but between my desire to have a night away from the kitchen & that nagging feeling that I should be exposing Sophia to new things I suggested we just go & take her with us.
We went to Joloff. A West African restaurant located at 930 Fulton St Brooklyn NY. Its a small restaurant with a very neighborly feel. I heard the waiters calling the regulars by their names. We felt extremely comfortable & they were very sweet to Sophia. They had traditional African music on which Sophia loved & danced to. She decided to be mommys polar opposite & talk to everyone in the restaurant. Including a nice french couple. Then I looked around & saw that at every table there were couples, families & friends. And in this room no two people were alike. It was a very eclectic mix of people which was even better. Sophia ate from mommys plate. She ate fried Yuca, beef in onion & lemon sauce with rice & salad. Our waitress was loving her appetite and how she was soo eager to try the food.
Our experience was really great & proved that we could have a date night while trying new things with Sophia.
