Christine's Trip to the Theater: School House Rock

***
I was extremely delighted when I found out that the Hartford Children's Theater was performing School House Rock. This cartoon series was a 1970s sensation that filtered into the 1980s; hence, why I love it so much.

I was a bit nervous at first to take Lady A to the performance, since I didn't know if it would hold her attention. So, I kept give her side way glances to see if she was really into it. She laughed and smiled and clapped appropriately and even tried to sing along to the songs.

It brought back a lot of memories for me and assured me that children can enjoy theater from a young age. She even joined the cast to dance to "Do The Circulation." Shy she was not!

At the end of the performance, she said, "I like this." If that wasn't the biggest thank-you, I don't know what would be.

This is Lady A still dancing outside of the theater. Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside of the theater.

I just wanted to leave you with one more School House Rock song. CNN even showcased it while President Obama was trying to pass the health care bill.
